Health and Safety Policy
Our policy is designed to keep participants safe during our indoor and outdoor activities. This policy will be reviewed every 12 months. Please note that climbing is a high risk activity
Indoor Climbing Events
Our indoor sessions require all participants to pre-register with the climbing wall and sign a waiver which explains the nature of the activity and the risks involved. ClimbMuz does not take any responsibility for accidents, injuries, or loss of personal property during our events. Our events are volunteer-led, and volunteers adhere to the health and safety policies of the climbing wall. All our volunteers are provided with guidance to ensure that safety is followed and everyone is having a good time. If you require formal instruction as a new or experienced climber we can recommend instructors to support you on your climbing journey.
Outdoor Climbing Events
We have participants with different levels of experience some are beginners and some are experienced. Outdoor climbers who are experienced in climbing outside are required to carry out their own risk assessment to judge the suitability of the approach, crag and climb. You are required to have your own personal liability insurance to cover the climbing activity you are taking part in. ClimbMuz can recommend insurance companies but independent participants are required to do their own research.
ClimbMuz hires climbing instructors who have their own group insurance, the instructor will carry out a risk assessment. This does not cover personal injury or loss of possessions during events. We recommend participants have their own insurance.
Record of Accidents and Injuries
For all our events, we will keep a record of accidents and injuries for auditing and learning purposes. This will be logged within 24hours and reviewed within 2 weeks. Participants are able to request this by getting in contact with us at ClimbMuz@gmail.com
