Our Story
ClimbMuz is a climbing group set up by Siddrah Aslam in July 2021 with a clear mission: to provide Muslim women, ethnic minority groups, and people of color (POC) with a safe space to explore the world of climbing.
ClimbMuz is more than just a climbing group—it’s a community where women can challenge their fears, push their abilities on the wall, and defy preconceptions of what it means to be a Muslim woman in the UK today. We believe climbing is about more than physical strength; it’s about overcoming challenges, embracing growth, and discovering the power within yourself.
We aim to create an inclusive and supportive environment where women can connect, build friendships, and discover the joy of climbing. Whether you’re completely new to the sport or looking to join a like-minded community, ClimbMuz is here to help you grow and reach new heights—together.

Siddrah Aslam
FOUNDER and DIRECTOR
Siddrah discovered climbing in her early twenties and, despite a fear of falling, embraced the sport with determination, celebrating every small win along the way. She founded ClimbMuz in 2021.

Xin Hui Yeo
COMMUNITY SUPPORT
Xin was introduced to climbing in 2021 and initially found the sport intimidating. However, joining ClimbMuz in Bethwall changed her perspective and increased her confidence, which led her to climb regularly and immerse herself in the community, becoming a facilitator and committee member.

Amalia fell in love with climbing in 2022, drawn by its challenges, creativity, and the supportive ClimbMuz community. Outside climbing, she’s passionate about hiking, cycling, and camping adventures.
